IROW Rye Row Race - 7 Mile "Open Ocean" Course at Wallis Sands Beach

September 17, 2011, 9:00 am to 11:00 am

 

This second annual event will feature a beautiful coastal course, low cost, no boat traffic (between bell buoy 1A & the "Moaner" RH1), good food & SWAG.

Launch/Start from the Wallis Sands State Beach, Route 1A in Rye, NH row southwest 2 miles around Rye Harbor Whistle Buoy, then North 3 miles around 1A Bell Buoy before heading west 2 miles back to the finish at Seal Rocks/Wallis Sands State Beach.

UNSAFE conditions will move race to the following morning, Sunday 9/23 at 10AM (call Ray to confirm that morning if questionable)

Self supportive race for pure OPEN WATER fun :-)
Bring a wheel cart or a friend, 100 yards from parking lot to the beach.

Route I-93 & I-95 are the gateway highways to New Hampshire.

From I-93:
To Route 101 east to I-95 to exit 5 to 1 By-Pass south to Route 1 south to 1A south. You will see Wallis Sands State Beach on the left.

From I-95:
Take exit 5 to 1 By-Pass south to Route 1 south to 1A south. You will see Wallis Sands State Beach on the left.
From Interstate Route 95: Take exit 5 (Portsmouth Traffic Circle) to NH Route 1 By-Pass south which links to NH Route 1 south, Lafayette Road. Take a left onto Elwyn Road which will connect you to NH Route 1A south, Ocean Boulevard. Wallis Sands State Beach is approximately 3 miles from the intersection on the left.
